Psytrance Prodigy Jonathan Allyn Joins 5AM MGMT & Event Promotion

Astoria, New York (March 26, 2014) – 5AM MGMT & Event Promotion is extremely excited to announce the addition of Los Angeles-based psytrance prodigy Jonathan Allyn to our growing pool of talented artists and producers. His tough yet melodically progressive style of underground psytrance has earned him widespread respect and recognition in the underground music scene, and his unique sound will diversify and add more depth to 5AM’s roster of trance and progressive talents.

As one of the U.S.’s fastest and fiercest rising stars in the trance scene, Jonathan has been recognized in DJ Mag’s Top 100 poll as Pharmacy Music’s label boss, Christopher Lawrence’s “Breakthrough DJ/Producer for 2009.” Jonathan’s productions continue to be featured and charted around the Globe on many of the world’s top radio shows, including multiple “Top 5” ranking features on Above & Beyond’s, “Trance Around the World” along with radio support on Matt Darey’s “Nocturnal Radio”, Christopher Lawrence’s “Rush Hour” and many more. Noted by Above and Beyond as a purveyor of “Classic Goa Trance, reminiscent of Paul Oakenfold’s early Perfecto days,” it is easy to see how Jonathan’s unique and relentless style of trance puts him in a very unique position, especially in a scene that has been saturated by the commercialized, over-compressed electro sound.

On the producer front, Jonathan has released numerous productions on many of the world’s top record labels including Armada, AVA, Baroque Records, Pharmacy and Hook Recordings. He has worked exclusively on collaborations with Anjunabeats “Jaytech” on Andy Moor’s AVA imprint, has become a top 10 selling artist on Beatport and Track it Down and has been featured on over 10 Armada compilations. His productions continue to be a stable for many of the world’s top DJs, with production support by the likes of Judge Jules, Sean Tyas, Above & Beyond, Christopher Lawrence, Marcus Schossow, Andy Moor, M.I.K.E, Aly & Fila, Ronski Speed, Markus Schulz and Lee Haslam, just to name a few.

In 2013, Jonathan mixed the second installment of Pharmacy Music’s showcase series titled “Pharmacy: Phase 2”, which featured a robust tracklist of some of the freshest, most unadulterated underground progressive and psytrance tracks, including original three original productions – “Torched”, “The Lights” and a 2013 remix of “Taking Sides.” Beyond his impressive discography, Jonathan can be found hosting his monthly radio show “Subterranean”, which airs exclusively on Afterhours.FM every third Friday at 18:00 EST, and is available for download oniTunes and Soundcloud. The latest episode (#56) can be foundhere. He also played International Trance Federation’sSecond Anniversary Special, a 26-hour long trance festival celebrating two years since the founding of ITF. The show was truly special, and was well attended by listeners across the globe.

“I am delighted to work with the 5AM MGMT & Event Promotion team,” said Jonathan. “Their growing footprint in the global trance community is impressive, and I look forward to the future.”

So Cal Studio Build

Moving out to the West Coast served two major purposes.

1. Closer to all of the action

2. Better weather!

Aside from adjusting to living in a smaller house that cost twice as much, finding a home where a proper studio could be built was priority number one.  Being that I have always enjoyed getting my hands dirty, who could resist the temptation of doing 90% of all the work myself.  Looking back it only took a couple months to build out the studio but it took twice as long for my body to recover.  All in all it was a great project to undertake and "almost" worth every hammered finger.

Visit the photo page to see just how much work went into building the studio and share your thoughts on my Facebook page.
